If it sounds like it's purging normally, but more frequently than it should, then it's not the governor or the purge valve. It's the unloader. If you have a constant hiss from the purge valve, then it's the purge valve that is bad (or stuck open by ice).

Plus you'll burn up your compressor and air hoses/lines more quickly. Don't need to add to the repairs you're already going to have to do.

Seriously? You or anyone else is in the wrong business if you can't sleep through a little noise at the truck stop. If you want quiet, go get a hotel room.

Hey Windsmith, I sleep with a Reefer running but I refuse to hear air popping all night. You are probably one of those super truckers that dont do maintance or pretrip, not to mention you wont pass a level 1 inspection. Your air cant build or hold.

Little is not unnecessary noise. NO one including you should have listen to noises due to defective mechanics on a truck.Or loud music from idiot driver that does not understand the term or action called consideration.

Thank you for trying to work this out. Hearing a truck pop off every 5 seconds at a truck stop while trying to sleep is the pits. ;)

I'd rather hear a air pop off as opposed to them #### long nose trucks that think they have to idle 24/7 at 1200 rpm.
