Just as a contrast I've bought and been thru a few of the inverters that truckstops sell. They never lasted for me so after going back on the road I decided to shop around and I bought a 1500 watt Go Power inverter from amazon. This thing is built like a tank. Much bigger than the TS ones. The cables alone are as thick ad you can get but so far it's done a great job.
There's all ranges of prices and mine wasn't cheap but is nowhere near the most expensive.
You just have to go with what you think is best. Modified Sine vs Pure Sine.
    Good luck

If your going to watch TV, use a Microwave and maybe use a lap top at the same time and you will now and again My advice is you will be better off with a 3000 watt 3500 peak inverter. Pay the extra. That is what I use and have had it for 5 years and no problems Also Forget the garbage wire they give you . Go to a welding shop and get welding cable. Have ends put on. You can weld all day and never get the cable hot. No worries on a truck. The red and black junk cable in the box is mostly used for stereo and amps for cars. If you shop around try to get an inverter with remote on off switch You will be glad you did. Other than microwave, TV,DVD player and two laptops we use ours to air up the air mattress.
Important. Put a fuse in both lines. Hot and ground. Will protect your truck from fire. best of luck in your search .
