My question to anyone who has ordered a new Volvo recently, from when you put your deposit check down how long did it take until you took delivery of your new Volvo? The reason I ask is because I ordered a new 780 I gave them my deposit check on 11-23-13 and I have still not taken delivery of my 780. They keep on pushing it back. Originally they told me 3 months so I called them at the end of April and they told me that it had been pushed back to a build date of May 6th. Then I called them the last week of may and they told me the truck was offline due to waiting on parts for the truck, and the new release date was June 6th. I called them Friday and said they have no new info on the truck. I ordered the truck through Volvo of Denver, the only thing custom is a 100 gal tank on the drivers side everything else is just factory options. I need this truck in order to go into CA after my CARB extension is up at the end of June. Should it be taking this long? Also what recourse do I have or do I just have to wait till it comes in? Any info or suggestions would be much appreciated

I ordered a new Volvo last year. It was roughly three months when it was built.
They're screwing with you. They may not have placed the order when they were supposed to. Ask to see the order confirmation from Volvo. If they will not show it to you demand your money back immediately. And make sure you tell them you want a cashiers check.
I have not heard good things about that dealer - at least their service dept.
If for some reason you decide to wait for the truck have the salesman call Volvo and check on the status of the truck while you are in his office and to put the call on speaker phone so you can hear everything that is said.
If you are not completely satisfied with how they handle the situation contact the Colorado Attorney Generals office and speak with someone there about the situation. They will probably be glad to help you. -
I'd contact Volvo directly @ 866 238 6586 (Customer Satisfaction) and relay exactly the timeline you have described here along with your deadline.

I tried ordering last October through a different dealer in Va.The salesman said he can put what ever i want on my new 780 even a bathtub if i needed one LOL.Ok so a week later they called and said they can't put a D16 in it, has to be D13.When i asked what is different on the new EPA 14 D13 motor from the old EPA 10 they couldn't answer for another week.Fine.They claimed they could squeeze 1850 lbs/ft of torque from the new D13 .Then next week they couldn't do a 13 speed eaton it had to be i-shift.I-shift is good but my old truck was automatic so i made up my mind to avoid those like the plague at list until there is a manual option available.I was suppose to get the truck delivered late December early January. They pushed it to February.I live in CA and CARB wants a new truck.I'm not gonna sit around and wait for them to get parts. So i gave up got my money back and went to another dealer and was lucky to find a truck spec'd very similarly to what i needed so i bought it.It's hard to find a well spec'd truck in most dealers inventories nowadays.I speak about Volvo don't know about others.Seems like they spec their trucks mostly for fleets not O/O's.And they claim that 425 hp and i-shift and ecotorque 1450-1650 is just right for any job.One size fits all.I don't think so

I ordered mine in June, didn't come in until December. Fortunately I was in the position to let it sit until Feb and let them pay to keep it, they were extremly cooperative after that.

New Option for Owners that Cannot Get Financing to Comply
The Board approved a new flexibility option that would defer compliance with the PM filter requirements
until January 1, 2017 for up to 3 trucks in a fleet for owners that are unable to afford compliance and
cannot get financing to comply. The criteria for claiming this option is being revised as directed by the
Board and will not be finalized until the summer of 2014.
