Removing and repairing A Volvo hood

I've got a 07 Volvo that the hood has broken around one of the hinges. Anyone had to make that repair? All I've found so far is on the web someone showing a group of pictures of pulling the hood and fiberglassing it. Looks like in one of the picture they used some type of paste/glue on the metal part. Know what that might be? Any advice anyone can give me on doing this job would be helpful.

Thanks Johny, that helps. "Fiberglass was more expensive"? Did you pay someone to do it? A quart should do it shouldn't it? I could just go down the Four States Trucks in Joplin and get a used hood for $1775. I can buy a whole lots of fiberglassing for that. I've done body work before with fiberglassing, metal welding and pop rivets. I can work well with metal. I have everything to do so with it, including a large scape pile. Probably do a combination of both. I'll beef up the other side while I'm at it. I don't want to have to do this more than once. Guess I'll know more of what I'm up agaist one I get the hood off so I can look at it better.
