Hood Mount Repair W/ pictures

Thank I might had created a new Gold Standard for this repair.Wasn't much of any info for this repair that I could find on line.Just a group of photos.I welded a piece of metal to the top of the bracket as was shown in that group.What I did different was weld a piece of flat bar that run all the way up to the shock. Shock area was also in need of repair. I drilled and tap the flat bar (2"x3/16") all the down it's length and added 1/4 inch bolts. I believe that will add extra strength. Should not break out again.

    Maybe this might help someone needing to make the same repair. But most importantly is how to avoid ever needing to make this repair. I've owned this truck from 70,000 mile till now. It's pushing 900,000 now. I had almost always raised the hood from the fender and let it go. I think now it should be raised from the front and hold it and let it gently come to rest on the shocks to hold it. Live and learn.
