Maximum Road Speed Adjustment

    I have a 2014 Volvo with the D13 engine. On the newer Volvos you can no longer set the maximum speed from the dash. Is anyone aware of another method or an aftermarket product that can be used to set the maximum speed that does not cost an arm and a leg?

    Wait, how can you set the max speed from the dash to begin with? This is interesting...do tell. What year and what engine were you able to set it on before prior?

    dashboard speed limit is user speed limit. but there is factory speed limit u can change with volvo software only

    My last truck was a 2007 with a D12. You could set max road speed and rpm if you had the password to access that part of the menu. Sometime after Ontario and Quebec came out with their speed limiter laws Volvo disabled those features. I don't know when it took affect.

    Trying to find a way to change the max speed other than going to a dealer every time I go to Ontario(which isn't often so far.)

    Volvo says there are people doing it but couldn't say what they were using.

    Has anyone ever found a way to do this yet? I am wanting to do the same thing and I have the same truck only mine is a 2015. Would a dealer even change the max speed setting if you're not the actual owner of the truck? I do know mine is not password protected.

    You need Vcads software......you can find Chinese rip off stuff for a few hundred dollars to do it yourself.
