My Volvo started missing when putting the pedal to the metal or when going up hill. First I had the computer send in a message to decrease rpms. No injector codes or anything to show malfunction in the injection system. One to three dealers, first two said it could be injector or injectors going bad to change all six because is very hard to determine which one. Third dealer said it couldn't find nothing in relation with injectors. He re flashed or reprogram the ECM and look for updates. The truck vibration can be felt on the steering and on the floor. It is not a real strong vibration but can be felt. When coasting I step for more fuel sometimes the vibration is there and some other times nothing happens or going uphill and step lightly it vibrates, give more fuel and it goes away. All this happens only after 60 or 65 miles per hour below everything is fine. Hopefully someone has or had experienced this problem before. New in the forum, hi to everyone and great info from all you thanks.

Have you changed the type of fuel filter that is being used yet?

Most likely it's an injector cup issue I have seen this a lot on 2009 to 2011 volvo the cups go bad and let compression go in the fuel system giving u feeling like there is a small amount of air in the fuel if someone pulls out injectors they should be able to tell which cup is bad although I would replace all 6 if u have copper cups no big deal just replace cups if u have stainless steel cups u need to replace injectors as well cuz they never seat properly on the new cup . 2011 have this issue usually in the neighborhood of 300 to 350 K

Thanks for the info, warranty expired. Now a matter of going back home and check with a dealer. I know it's going to be expensive.

Thanks Nasriza, I wonder how much work is involved and the tools necessary. I worked for many years and (retired) as a heavy equipment mechanic/trucking. I have worked, repair, rebuilt detroit, cummins, and cat engines up to 2008/09 left the mechanical end bought my own truck now I bought a 2011 volvo, my brother has a very good luck with his 2010 volvo 780. but honestly I have never worked on a volvo engine. don't know what precautions and tools in needed to change injectors and cups or run an overhead for that matter. I have heard that this engines are way different than the others. any ideas and help very much appreciated.

Relatively simple if u have the mechanic feel which u do just need special tools to remove the cups and to sledge them back in as far as over head goes it's simple if u have the feel for one they're all the same give or take the only issue is I believe the tools for the cups are pretty expensive so I don't believe it would be worth to buy them if you re only going to do one set they run direct tools for stainless and different for copper if u want to do them yourself I can let u know everything g u need or the procedure
