Converting autoshift to manual transmission

    Im planning to get older volvo 660 with d12 engine and autoshift with clutch pedal. They told in the shop that is possible to change from autoshift to manual. Cost about $1500. I heard that clutch after this mod doesnt last long? Anybody done this for your trucks? Is everything ok?

    You will be in control of the clutch pedal so it should last as long as any of the others.

    in workshops they use to swap transmission, but really u can fit shifter on x-y motors place with steel conversion plate, remove electric range valve and change it with air valve.

    Anyway VECU must be reprogrammed and sometimes EECM (on some models if u change VECU software, but not in EECU - engine runs well, but ECM throws code MID130 not responding.)
