Hi
I'm thinking of buying a Volvo with cummins isx and 13 speed transmission.
Mileage is 150k on it. Checked it on carfax and looks legit
Just one concern I have is the gear shifter knob, its so "loose", not tight, lever goes all the way to the right and when shifting
in to 3rd/7th gear I can almost hit dashboard with it
I know its not normal because on my friends truck ( same engine and trans with 890k miles) shifter lever doesnt have so much play
My question is.. whats wrong? is it something deep in transmission or something smaller that can be fixed without taking tranny out??
any input will be greatly appreciated!
13 speed transmission gear shifter/lever too much play/ loose / not tight whats wrong

More than likely in the linkage, no need to go into transmission. However, a mechanic can confirm that is just a few minutes, get it checked before signing on the dotted line.

are you sure it`s 150 k and not 1,150,000 miles ?

yeas its 150k
check it with carfax, ecm shows 150k miles and 7k engine hours on it .. it was a local truck
and since the transmission is 13 speed not everyone might know how to drive it..
I consider many drivers with small to non driving experience but 1,150k miles seems more reasonable -

Yes truck has wet line and 530hp isx , double exhausts, no leaks whatsoever.. would say full option
Is it possible to "adjust" mileage on it ? maybe somebody before inspection/title change - was "adjusting" it ?? -
The Shifter Bushing/ Isolator needs to be replaced, there's no need to take the transmission out.

One Volvo (2002 VHD?, higher milage twin of the truck I learned roll.off in on weekends) on the farm was sloppy like that, it was a spare and drivers were forever hitting the differential lock switches shifting to 3rd/7th....this was an 18 speed Eaton-fuller mind you, but it was made good as new with new bushings despite the 87X,XXXkm on it at the time......

on the other hand have a friend and he has freightliner from 2000 with 350k on it
