    On drive axle. its a 2 pieces thing with one piece being straight, and other kinda S shaped. I broke straight piece right at bushing. can I get away with replacing only that or do I need whole thing. Ive tried to call couple of mechanics, but they all taking this weekend off.

    I have done both, but usually almost as cheap to replace the whole thing.As parts go, springs are not very expensive.
