When u say isolate the intake, u mean the intake of the air compressor? this way it is not going to suck air and as a result will not pump anything? Am i right?

Yes...... And run truck and see if it's building pressure in cooling system or not.

How's your Thermostat that could be sticking closes, now and then. You need to take a Engine oil and coolent sample and find out exactly where things are going. Or you going to be change lot of expensive parts!

    Hi guys,
I have a similar issue with my 08 volvo D12.
I did a EGR cooler delete last week because I had pressure in the coolant tank and thought that would fix it, but it did not.
    Please help!!!!!

Did anyone figure something out. I have same exact issue. I have done an oil sample and it came back clean. No coolant in oil. Getting lots of pressure in the coolant tank which triggers a STOP light in the dash for low coolant. After i open the coolant tank cap off the coolant levels out. Will appreciate any response

Blown air compressor head gasket. Air compressor is pumping air into the cooling system and pressurizing it.

Socal Xpress and kabusheke2004 Thank this.

just take the two top hoses on the compressor off block the engine sides off of the hose get two lengths of hose the right size get a 20L drum with a tap spout the hose you put on the tap spout is the supply line for the compressor, and the other drill a hole in the top lid the right size for the hose and stuff it in there put the drum up higher than the compressor and start and see if the compressor is pumping air through the top line
