Volvo exaust gasses coming into the cabin vents kill dozens of drivers a year while they sleep. Volvo wont change the design, that would be admitting guilt. And Volvo pays the lawyers and families millions in fines every year to keep their mouths shut about the problem. Class action law suit and contacting D.O.T., NHSTA, and your congressmen is the only way this is going to get fixed. Burning eyes, nose, lips, teeth, headache, dizzyness, and nausea are caused by the exaust and blow-by gasses coming from the cabin vents. Falling asleep at the wheel is another cause of accidents and deaths due to Volvo's arrogance. Lets' get this fixed once and for all people. Your employer wont help, Volvo wont help, we must do our part. Document what is happening, park under a street light at night, and in the right conditions, you can see the fumes coming out the window from the cab, it's not hard to figure out. Wake-up! or you may not wake-up ever in the sleeper of a Volvo.

You have any links attesting to that? I looked and didn't see anything close.

kill dozens of drivers a year while they sleep:biggrin_2555: You need some proof to back that up , VOLVO could see that as slander

If you have an exhaust leak, it is your responsibility to get it fixed.

It's really hard to die from diesel exhaust, there's not enough carbon monoxide. When I had to drive a Volvo I almost died from embarrassment though.

I believe you, anc not Volvo only; in my 1,373,000 miles spent in this truck, 2008 D13 motor ,I had many problems with exhaust gases leaking in the cab; the high back pressure and rough roads causes leaks in fragile exhaust gaskets, manifold,DPF filter. I replaced manifold twice, the flex pipe and gaskets many ,many times, fixed leaking DPF housing , crankcase oil separator leaking fumes, the ERG is leaking and burning oil also .
I use a fire/smoke/carbon monoxide alarm all the time, I had the alarm going off 3-4 times and i strongly recommend to stop at Home Depot /Lowes and get one, for any trucks, but especially if you got a 2008 or newer. EPA wants to save the planet, drivers are expandable.

At least you weren't driving a International Prostar, then you'd really be screwed!
