I've got this new oil field special VHD 200 day cab. So far I love the truck except the fact that it turns like a ship! My OTR kenworths with 86" studio sleepers will out turn this sucker no problem. I've removed the steering stops in the knuckle but there is something else stopping it from turning any further, and theres a long ways to go before tires are even close to touching anything.. There's a lot of these trucks out here now and there all like this. Does anyone kno a trick to fix this, or an updated gear or something that will bolt in?

Mack lineage? There's a quartet of CXNs here that the Emma Maersk can out-maneuver.

I've got a 240" WB forward axle CH613 day cab...need a 40 acre field to pull a u-turn. Took a little getting used to (came out of a 198" WB freightshaker Columbia day cab that turned on a dime), but I can get this beast in & out of anywhere I need to take it.

Volvo used drop arms of different lenth. On some VHD and FM dump trucks they used short drop arm to reduse forces on steering box and reduce tire wear. They did it becouse dump trucks work on rought surfaces of construction areas, but.... when they introduced FMX (including twin steer axle model) they reduced turning radius.

Is there a longer drop arm from another model that will work in this truck? I can see how a longer one would definitely make it turn sharper.
