Raised hood to put in washer fluid and noticed radiator tank was black instead of red. Sure enough it had been filed to the very top with engine oil. D13 with 29k miles and I will obviously be dropped off to the dealer when m/t. Any guesses on what it could be?
I will report back when professionally diagnosed.

You really dont give enough information. Year? only 29k on truck, rebuild, has it been in the shop before? details details, details make the difference. Give us the Paul Harvey version. most likely a cooler.
6 Speed Thanks this. -
Oil cooler, head gasket, liners.

oil ore diesel? may be sleeves, but usually oil cooler (pass side of engine) ore compressor

Is your engine oil low? If not it could be your tranny cooler.

Let you know tomorrow.

It was the oil cooler, invoice was for $5600.Not sure how that will be handled only a driver with no knowledge of the business.
It happened at 29K so it could happen at any time with the d13.Seems like a great motor but would hate that potential repair hanging over my head.Just another of my reasons why the L/P is so attractive to the mega's.
Put that cost on the driver.Last edited: Oct 23, 2014

Im surprised you run 75mph though... This trip I was under 70k round trip, and I still do not run over 71mph.. I even drop the speed to 68-69mph if temps outside are 95*F+ (pavement gets too hot, so do the tires)
