    once I get my truck started it will run all day, after I sit for 10 minutes or ten hours, I lose my prime. I do see small bubbles appearing in my water and fuel separator more like small form bubbles. I know the fuel system is sucky air where do I begin, I did notice when I use the prime plunger and the main filter to prime the system it leaks fuel out of the plunger, in my opinion if it's leaking fuel it's sucking air.

    Is there any other places where I should be looking, did replace the fuel pump still the same problem, next on my list is the main fuel filter assembly?

    Any suggestions would be appreciated

    Rolls Canardly here,
    As a general rule there is a check valve on fuel line before head. replace it.
    I had this annoying problem also and changed mine out and it was fixed.
    3126 Cat motor has it threaded into back of head; Don't know on Volvo,
    you need 6 foot gorilla arms to get back to it, but it threads right out.
    Mine was a right angle elbow fitting w/ body made of brass
    that must have a disc and spring for the one-way action.
    Barb fitting on end fits the blue plastic fuel hose; don't forget a clamp over the hose.
    My kid, (40 Y.O. - kid? whatever,) did the change out on mine, and it sucked air around the barb without a clamp.

    Good Luck, Happy Motoring,

    yep, I had this long cranking losing prime 4 times with my D13; ; I wasted $ on fuel pump, fuel filter housing but every time was the cups;
    D12 doesn't have ultra high injection pressure and less problems with cups; but buddies of mine with D12 did have same problem with cups at higher mileage;

    Here is the update on my air problem, the green zip tie is where my air was coming into the fuel system, not the fuel injecter cups ! Had a crack in the line at the Y contion. Just cut about an inch of tubing off and restilled back on.

    Hi, Nik. Did you have problems with power loose, rattles and shaking?
