Your truck has a ghost in it. BEWARE!:biggrin_2551:

OK, seriously, if it was me, I'd be looking into it as soon as you get time, rather than "waiting for it to do it again." Let's face it, you DO NOT want that window dropping on you in the middle of a blizzard, or even in some "hoods" that you may have to drive through. Fix it now, rather than later!

Ok so it did it again on a cold sunday night as I was going to leave. Turned the key on and the passenger window went straight down. I have connections to a junk yard and went in and took two switches, one for each door. When I put the other switches on the lights would dim in the cab like its the motor was kicking on. It would only do it when both switches were connected. I ended up leaving with the window down and after an hour it went up but would immediately go back down so I pulled over and help the switch up to keep it up turned the truck off and removed the passenger switch. Now window stays up but I appears that both switches have to be connected to move the window. I cant move it with the driver switch connected and the passenger one disconnected. So any suggestions???

OK. does anyone know how to replace the switch??? (How to get the old one out, I want to do it without breaking something, Lol) I see conversations on the problem but not how to replace the darn thing. I Raining like a sun of a gun and I found I have the same problem. Not nice to wake up in the middle of the night with the window down and it raining like mad. Lol...

I thought so, I didn't want to force it just in case.

I found out I have a leak over the window. I think it's something similar to what was mentioned regarding a crack in the upper side of faring.. I'll get a ladder and look when I get home.

Not nice waking up with rain coming into the cab. I did roll up the window and yank the fuse out. What a bummer. Seems to be pretty wet this summer.

Rain water does not conduct anywhere near enough power to turn a DC switch on and off. You can replace the switch and maybe it's defective. The switch does not control the electric motor for the window. The switch goes to the computer so it's probably only 5 volts going through it. The computer turns on a much larger circuit to put the window up and down. The computer senses how much power/amps are being drawn and shuts the circuit off when it reaches a certain point. That's how it knows the window is at the very top or bottom.

But as far as water is concerned you should be able to take the switch out, leave the wires connected, put it in a glass of water and nothing will happen.

Have owned volvo's water does not conduct but it corrodes and make these switch go bad it's happen all the time. Take the switch a part it will be full of corrosion. So explain all you want water is the reason
