I have 1000 miles on an ishift, starting to really like it. I know that's not much time, but I was dead set against it, thought I would hate it, not so!

I-Shift is potentially asking for trouble, since it's completely automatic. I was supposed to start a gig the first Friday of December, took off from San Jose, CA down to Santa Maria, CA. Unfortunately, halfway through, my co-driver stopped in King City because the check engine light was coming on. Transmission was not working properly, sometimes it would engage, sometimes it wouldn't, sometimes the engine revved up high. Luckily we brought it back to Volvo dealership in Oakland. Next morning they tell us an ECU fault was present, and since it's directly connected to the transmission (being automatic) the I-Shift tranny was not operating properly. 11 days later, they still have not fixed the problem.
By the way, truck is 2015 Volvo VNL670 with I-shift tranny, only had about 37,000 miles on it when this happened.Last edited: Dec 17, 2014
