Volvo D13 SCR DEF Engine Derate – who is responsible?

I am thinking to buy Volvo 2010 D13 manual 10sp transmission with 425 hp I just need some help... do you think the horse power is enough?if somebody drove one like this please share your experience....it will be driven only to east coast and middle east thanks

 

Was the SCR introduced on 2010 or 2011 models??

usually th derate is related with NOX sensor. 40% of torque and 80 kmh (50 mph).

it is not all, derate is active is ECM reeds toxic exaust for relativelly long time. Not for some seconds.... ore minutes

 

I almost spit my beer out of my mouth when I read the the title... LOL!

 

I think this is a good point of making.... The severe derate is a safety hazard to any vehicle on the roadway

 

We, O/O are getting bankrupt by this problem, we should form a PAC and go to Washington somehow with our complain, enough is enough, time to action, no more words. Banks are repossesing trucks and owner's lossing their houses, savings and retirement money, just because wrong doing from truck makers and politicians, none of them are affected by this wrong doing, we (and our families) are. What is OOIDA doing about it?

 

That boat left a long long time ago. They wont eliminate those regulations so either adapt or go be a company driver.

 

OOIDA working hard to recruit new members instead of bankrupted O/O to keep membership money at same level.

 

The derate is a place to start !!

It's so several it's a Major safety problem on our roadways !!


I doubt you'll ever get rid of the DPF ... And the systems have been getting better every year
