I have a 2009 Volvo 780 with a D13. There is a contraption just behind the alternator behind the oil fill tube and oil dip stick cable on the drivers side of the engine. This part has a small high pressure air line going to it and has a large pipe coming to it from the valve cover. It has a 1" or so pipe that is open ended and is pointed toward the ground. Anybody know what this componet is called. Thanks for any help. The dealer is not sure what it is ether. Thanks
What is the name of this componet on a d13 ??

Sounds like blow/by tube with filter below valve cover?

That's the crankcase filter I believe or breather filter just makes truck more envoirment friendly

Nasriza and baha you are correct. That is the oil bypass seperator. Dealer wants about $700 for the seperator only. I think I will wait on it. It still works but leaking oil. Thanks for the help.

what a piece of crap! but saves some of the blow by oil ; returns back to oil pan;
it cost me over 1000$; the main cause of oil leaks for D13 motor; -
My base that bolts to the block is cracked on mine. But I am supposed to buy the whole piece so if anyone has the part of the filter that bolts to the block I'll be glad to buy one that isn't cracked.
