For Owner ops out there. How about bypassing LCM and just running relays and and a switch? I've always been curious about this.

The right kit will not require you to 'reprogram' anything

$400 is a bit high ,in Canada the land of higher prices I paid $299.00(each) for volvo OEM head lights.Sometimes a sale price can be found for another $20 off - each.
I ripped out the oem projectors and installed HHR's kit , 2 years now and very satisfied.

2 years? So I assume your kit it's the older version that has a led bulb that goes in the high beam spot?

The new upgraded kits he uses are different now, he eliminated the led bulb where the high beam goes and he uses a relay instead of a one way diode.

I had issues with the relay harness having a bad enough delay that one of my lights would shut off so he sent me his diode harness free of charge. He thinks maybe the delay was a little longer due to canadian temps, although it was still warm out at that time.

The big problem I have is eliminating the high beam bulb functionality because if you het pulled into a dot check stop and they see its not working they will ask and what are you going to say? Oh its ok officer, I do have a working high beam still because I illegally modified my headlights..........

I built a custom relay harness triggered by the high beam so I can still have a high beam bulb that functions, so that way when I do get checked out all will seem to be normal.

    Its legal
Dave first introduced the idea on a RV forum ,got himself grilled big time be a couple of members who are dot officers, one from Texas and the other cali I think.
They went back and forth quoting the regs and laws (FVCMSS ?) stuff I could not follow ,in the end however they were satisfied and sold me .
We all meet at a rally in crossville tn (google the video on U tube) and he sold all the kits he brought.
Just to clarify it wasn't 2 years ago ,this thread jogged my memory - it was last april not the year before -
    forgive me Iam old:biggrin_25521:
