I was checking on injecter cups on my engine D12d I don't have a problem but, they make a copper or an stainless steel cups, the Volvo dearler told me, you can not mix the injectors with different cups ( stainless steel ) I was just wondering what's the difference between the two injectors?
Volvo D12 injected cups need some info.

this is what i was told, the injectors are the same. but, if you have copper cups and want to change them you can put in new cups and install the old injectors. if you switch to the stainless then you have to match with a new injector due to a tighter fit and carbon deposits on old injectors if that make any sense.

Ok...just went through my second set of injectors in less than 1 year. It was explained to me that there has been at least 3 new version each one addressing a different problem. First version upgrade is the injector cup issue. The second version was dealing with some mechanical issue. The last version was dealing with a wiring issue. I see that you have a 2007 so it may only be the cup issue for your year truck. My Volvo is a 2011. Don't be surprised that you can't mix cups. Don't remember what the reason was. You may end up putting in a 6 pack instead of just one injector. I was lucky and still had warranty the first round a year ago and Volvo put in a full set of 6 which was recommended. This last set that was installed 3 weeks ago was also covered as I only got 7 months and less than 70,000 miles on the set.

There is no stainless cup for a d12 that I have ever seen.
