Ever since I've owned this truck (1999 Volvo VN, Detroit 60) which has been about 2 years now, I have had to pump down the brakes 3 times when I start the truck each morning before it will hold air pressure at 120 psi. If I do not go through this procedure of building air, pump it down all the way, then let it build again, pump it down all the way, and one more time, build air, pump down, it will loose all it's air while I'm driving down the road, then I will have to pull off the road, build air, pump down, etc. Once I do this, it's good for the day.

Any thoughts as to what might be the cause of this strange problem?

    Thanks in advance

One of the brake air valves could be leaking out of vent, 1st time it builds up air shut off truck and find leak, ck. foot valve on outside of firewall and every brake valve at all 3 axels, look for a trail of oil leading out bottom of valves, draining air tanks look for oil water mix at wet tank?

Man, your fellow truckers must love you in the morning. And you've been doing this shenanigans for two years?

nobody can figure it out. There's no noticeable air leak. I do the pump down procedure before I leave the yard in morning -nobody even around to bother with it :) - just sounds like I'm doing a really thorough pre-trip.
