Volvo Part Number for the Skylight Cover on VNL780

I had one at one point and somehow lost it. Instead of buying a new one (the dealer wanted 65 bucks for a replacement) I used a pizza box. A medium pizza box fits almost perfectly and blocks the light and heat just as well. Free beats whatever the dealer wants to charge you, especially something like that where function is more important than form. Just my 2 cents.

 

The volvo in Chicago/ summit IL. it is mostly a Mack dealer, call the dealer in Aisp il. About 25 miles south of there. ( same owners M&K ) They are the ones that know every thing about Volvo's, that place on any given day, 20 trucks line up for service.

 

I used an old windshield sun shade that didn't cost me anything. Just trim to size and tuck it behind the headliner.

Call Volvo directly, explain that no help from dealer, they have technicians on phone in business hours (EST I believe).

This is not what they primarily do (pdf explains), but still was able to get help from them before (even like diagrams for stereo connections, part #, etc.)

If you are talking about one with suction cup, don't waste your time. It was useless.

 

I've had my Volvo Skylight Sun Shade since 2003 and it works great. The key to keeping it stuck up there is to put a little bit of water on the suction cup (the side facing the glass) and carefully without spilling any water, stick it on the glass. It will fall down once in a while, but you just repeat the water on the suction cup method. In the 12 years I've owned my truck, it probably only fell back down maybe 8 times.
