Ok the truck turns over but will not fire. J1587 Communication Error with Vehicle Ecu. This has happened a few times but of course never at the dealer. So when this happens the Temp gauge doesn't read anything and Traction control light stays on. If I leave the ignition on the ON position the Error goes away and Temp gauges jumps and TC light goes out. It takes several minutes but eventually the truck will fire normally. So where do I begin to look?
Truck will no start....Help Pablo!!

I've had a similar problem, check your starter wires, on mine the ground cable from starter to engine was bad.

look on back upper side of cab for an old QUALCOMM cable that might hanging there. If there is one,you need to look inside the connector for green corrosion. The proper fix is to remove the entire harness. For emergency, cut of the connector. The QUALCOMM is tied into the data link and is shorting inside left over connector.Good luck.

The problem is simple
Bad Engine ECM relay, ore blown EECU fuse (usually blows if u start with bad batteries) ore bad engine ECM power wires (wight is ground, red/wight -positive power)
Bad J1587/1708 does not let start only if u have factory immobilizer, rare thing for US trucks and popular in EU becouse if issurance companies.
Sometimes bad ECM.
Ok, how to test:
Find big twist connector on dr. side of engine. This is engine interface connector. Remove cover to see wire color. Thik wight and red-wt wires are power supply. Twisted pares are datalink and j1939 CAN.
Separate connector, turn ignition on and check supply on connector with 21 wt ore 55 wt bulb. If no power - check wires to MCFC connector (cab-chassis). And inspect all components, including ECM power relay (controlled by vecu), fuse step by step!
