When my Master Cylinder Piston seized my Clutch Pedal froze in the Up position and I couldn't get it in gear. I tried to push down on the Clutch Pedal and heard a loud pop and the Pedal was on the floor and wouldn't come back up. The Shop replaced the Master Cylinder and Return Spring, but didn't have to change the Clutch Pedal Assembly. Your situation and parts failure may be different.

You have to disconnect the cables from the fender wells that hold the hood in place, then you will have enough slack to slip the cables off the latch on the column.

Thank you! That's great I figured it was like my project car that detaches from the inside handle only.

Just an update replaced clutch pedal assembly with it's hardware. Also we found the master cylinder was binding probably causing the pedal assembly failure. I had been having hair trigger clutch issues right off the floor and when l would come to a stop it would take very long to be able to get it back into gear without it grinding. I had saw that the clutch needed adjustment or the clutch brake was having a problem. but that previous owner of the truck told me that both were fairly new replace it in the past couple of years. now with a new master cylinder the problems are all gone. I have great clutch pedal travel and the clutch engages at a very top of it. No more hair trigger clutch right off the floor. also now when I come to a stop getting the truck back in gear is about 10 times easier. if you seem to be having problems with your clutch be sure to check the master cylinder as I wouldn't have thought that these problems could be solved by this. I am now almost thankful that the clutch pedal assembly broke because now I was able to have all of these issues resolved. once again thanks to everyone for the great information and all that you do.

Thanks for coming back and letting us know the final outcome. That helps a lot of drivers that may run into similar issues.
Good to hear the new clutch pedal assembly & master cylinder now properly compliment your other (newer) primary clutch parts.
No doubt it made a world of difference.

I have a similar problem now! How much did that end up costing you? If you don't mind me asking?...
