07 volvo w/cummins wont start

Do you have to push starter butt. 5 or 6 times then it spins or does it spin along time till it fires up. /

 

Have the CK. valve on fuel filter or return fuel line replaced or ck. to be sure its not leaking down after key is turned off, does it start faster if you dont leave eng. off for a long time?

 

How long has fuel filter been on, do you have type that you can see fuel inside filter?

 

Cummins engines have a electric lift pump to prime it before it starts, when you turn on the key and the ECM is doing all of its checks you should be able to hear it running for 15-30 seconds when you turn on the key. But if I'm understanding your OP now it's completely dead no cranking or anything, if that is the case it might be a low voltage cut off, try jumping to get voltage up, make sure you can hear the pump humming when you turn the key on.

 

with my Volvo D13/08 , I had this long cranking symptoms 4 times in 7 years, and after few days won't start , and every time I had to replace leaking injector cups;
I had Volvo and Detroits only, but as as Bubbanbrenda mentioned above, looks like fuel doesn';t get to injectors, maybe sucking air( do you see air bubbles in water separator? I would also replace fuel filters , water separator ,check fuel line fittings fuel pressure; many rubber seals, plastic fittings are leaking during cold weather;

 

Drain whats in filter into a clear jar and let it sit to see if water forms at bottom of jar, you may have some bad fuel that made your small prob. into a no run prob.
