volvo 780 i-shift gear selector ECU

Take the main battery cable off for 5 minutes and then try again.

She could be over heated too... may have let the truck cool down for a few hours and try again.

Other then that a code reader and blank the codes out or a tow truck.

Have come across the wires some times break in the selecter too check for chafed or pinched wires.

Could be the x y shifter motors in the trans that shift it. I had 2 volvos that did the same thing, had it towed to dealer to fix. It wouldn't go in a gear period.

 

It's possible something is going on with the clutch as well but if u have an I shift u might as well tow it to dealer cuz very few shops are willing to work on them

 

Can you tell me the exact code you can read in the cluster display ?
What is the year and millage of your truck ?

I'm having the same problem right now waiting for a tow what's the cost for gear selector on volvo i shift D13

 

Also I'm adding a lot of coolant there's too presuse on the coolest reservoir what u think is that problem guys thanks

 

The two common cause are :
Egr cooler and injector sleeves i recommand you to check egr cooler first (remove orange rubber hose at the outlet of egr cooler for inside inspection)
Note: Very often we need to cut that hose to be able to remove it.
Let me know what you will find.
