I have been putting off this post for some time until the time was right.

I have been applying to Walmart since October 12'. Most of you who read this know that I have been with Knight for some time now. At that time, I was spotting on the Macy's account and the DM at that time was looking to cut us back to only 4 days a week, 8 hrs a day. I can not get by on that alone. We were also given the option to go out on a truck to do some local work. But why would we want to do that when another spotter who did do this, did not get paid for doing so. Long story short, that DM had since been transferred to Dallas and the current one is much better. I have since stopped spotting and am running local on the account. I made the decision to try and apply for Walmart because I need to better my families life. I am at the point where my family needs more than just living paycheck to paycheck. As I had said in the past Knight is not a great company but not the worst.

My Uncle started for Walmart last year around the time I looked into applying. He along with reading these threads have inspired me to apply. Walmart wants the best, so they will get the best. I got my first call for the first interview last month. I went and passed all three parts. One week and a day later I received my second call. Yesterday, Friday, I received my last call. I will be working for Walmart. They are finishing up with one more driver for his conditional offer and are planning a orientation date. I am figuring by the end of this month.

I have worked hard for a long time for better equipment, better pay, better benefits. I know Knight is not what it was but it was a job that I needed when I moved to Texas. Now things have changed and I need to make a change that will work for me and my family and Walmart is it. A company that will pay drivers what they are worth. Respect. Great equipment. Great benefits.

Well its out in the open now. I am very excited to start soon. Walmart has a very good CSA score. They have maintained a line of excellence for and about their drivers. I can not wait to be a part of it!

Conrats on the new job.. Now about the picture with the railroad bridge, it really doesn't matter who one drives for, you can't always fix stupid. That wasn't an accident, that was a blatant disregard of everything a driver does on a regular basis to leave and return.....safely.

I started driving back in 98'. I have over 14 years in the industry. If you meet the minimum requirements you can apply as well. clean record and milages are what they are looking for. It has taken me some time before deciding to do so but that time as come.
