I gather someone may read this that drives for Walmart and maybe would answer a question for me

Thank you for the information on this. I would much rather drive for a smaller company to get my experience. Also my buddy is looking to buy another truck but I can not drive for him for another four months until I'm 25 because of his insurance but I can not wait to start. Finally when I did drive I was extremely safe when I did I did not speed or take loads that I knew would get me into trouble which drove my employer nuts but like I told him its my license not yours so I'll drive the way I see fit.
I also found out I may be able to become a relief driver at my current job to cover for our drivers when they are on vacation. -
This is the company I'd ultimately love to work for. <3
weirdpuckett Thanks this. -

Somewhere I heard that the days of WalMart drivers making $80K+ are long gone, with the outsourcing they do more of and better utilization of there own equipment. Have any of you heard anything of the such? Why does it seem to be such a mystery what they pay their drivers? I know they use to get paid by the hub but I don't know if that is even done anymore?

I had the vice president of transportation come to one of my classes last year and he said their drivers make between 80-120kyou depending on how ling they have been with the company, their driving record, and where they go.

no direct O/O's... there are a couple at Johnstown, NY DC through NFI... every once in a while, we use dedicated when freight is heavy... mainly to patronize these companies and keep them happy. We use different ones to spread it around...
Lots of money to be made and won't get treated any better... no worries about equipment either. Not perfect by any stretch because it is still driving a truck in this day and age... general work sched can be tough to cope with because you won't see a weekend off for a long time.
There a lots of drivers that want to work there for a reason, glad I am there... but no job is perfect. -
