They should be known as right-to-freeload states. That is all it is, they don't pay dues, but benefit by everything the dues payers pay for, and then demand protection without paying dues. Right-to-freeload!

    claredog1 and Drew352 Thank this.

Any one know what's top pay and how long it takes to get there at Waste Management for a class A driver? I believe they pick up and drop off dumpsters. Seen job add they posted that didn't last long was wondering what it paid. This was in the Chicagoland area.

WM recently rejected me for a job they listed online which said no experience was necessary... because I lacked sufficient experience. I've decided not to apply again.

I've applied with them many times for a roll-off truck driver job. Today, I got a phone call from a recruiter. I was surprised I got the phone call. In the past, I would always get an automated email saying they've decided to pursue other candidates. Maybe now it's because I got about one year of driving experience. The recruiter basically tells you about the job and salary. He also asked me how I followed safety precautions at my last job and what makes me a good candidate for WM. One question he did ask me is if any of my previous jobs required physical labor. I said "No" without thinking. He told me he's gonna submit my answers to the hiring manager and if he's interested, I'll get some type of response. I'm worried that my "No" answer may ruin my chances of being considered. :biggrin_25513:

Well no luck with WM. I got the email saying they've decided to pursue other candidates. People are right. They are so picky. LOL

Well I just don't get it. I had another good interview with WM at the yard and was still rejected. I just don't know what to do. I'm gonna try to get into a small independent garbage company, get some experience with garbage truck equipment and then try to get into WM next time it pops up.
On another note, does anyone know anything about Future sanitation here in the Monmouth NJ area? Pay or anything else?

Like I posted a long time ago. It's who you know with them. You need another driver referring you and then you are a shoe in. Relevant experience is a plus. Many times management will ask their drivers if they know someone and the referrals go to the top of the list.

The bad part of WM is they are time critical. They know exactly how long a run takes and they expect you back. Take an unscheduled 15 minute store break and you get :biggrin_25516:.

Ok I finally got the "sorry we are not hiring you" email, but now today a brand new residential driver job is up with a new job number and everything but it will not allow me to apply. It says "we see you already applied to this job" but its a completely different job number. What do you think? I really freaking want this job, I don't understand these people. Someone with over 200,000 class B driving experience, experience with hydraulic equipment, I simply don't get it.
