HEY!!! Thanks everyone!!

MaximumTexas, Man, you better find me out there somewhere. I sold my 68 Martin 12 string years ago to my brother. But I plan to take up picking again when I can. THAT sir....would be FUN!!

OK, I'm sitting in the Days in here in Conover NC and it's a about a block from the W/S terminal. A very nice place ans YES, I have a picture or two.

We arrived at roughly 1800 and got settled...QUICKLY...as our chauffeur and safety manager Vernon took us out to get dinner at 1830....LOL

We had a BLAST on the way down. There were supposed to be 4 of us students but only 3 showed up. Vernon is simply great! We laughed, joked, talked about driving and a bit about the class and what he's going to teach us. Truly nothing like I expected for the ride down.

So, did we take a gray dog? NOPE! Since Vernon had to come down anyway, he figured we'd all ride in style so he rented a very nice, comfortable SUV and away we went. YES....I have a picture or two! LOL

As you might have guessed by now, I did bring my laptop and there is free Internet here so the plan of posting the day by day Like CAGEtrucker did is on!

The rooms are supposed to be double occupancy but since it's only the 3 of us right now, I have one to myself for tonight. Evidently, there are more students coming in tomorrow so my "privacy" will be short lived. Vernon thinks we'll have about 7 or 8 students in all but isn't positive so when I find out, I'll post the class size.

I'll tell ya folks, you all know what ORG (wonder if can use his name yet?) and I have been through to this point. I haven't slept much in two weeks, been a bit stressed and I'm pretty tired now. But I just CAN'T WAIT to get going in the morning....LOL

Anyway, I'm going to process the couple pictures I have now and 'll post them when done. But first I'm heading to the vending machine for a soda and hanging outside in NC for a few. Who knows, I may even sleep a minute or two later.....

The next leg of the adventure has begun!

Well I managed to get a few hours shut eye sort of....LOL Fortunately, I never did require much sleep. My schedule for the past 30 years has been 0300 to 2400 so a "few" hours is actually sleeping in!

Having coffee & just hanging outside in the very warm, humid morning here. AH yes, I can almost smell the diesel now!!

sammycat, yep! I'd say you pretty much nailed how I feel. My favorite state of mind is being "Nervously Excited" and I'm there! Nervous about the upcoming and unknown, and excited about meeting it and knowing it!

Wedge, You have a thread?? And you didn't tell me?? .... Geeezzzz.... I guess I'll have to go "SEARCH" for it???? LOL

So in all the things I packed to come here, with all the "Making a list and checking twice" or 15 to 20 times, I forget to bring my shampoo?? ...DOE!!! But the hotel has a little complimentary one that will get me past today. Wally World is just down the street so a nice walk after class will do me good.
