i still dont know what the furniture pay is all about i forgot what they told me, i dont do very much. and when i do i rarely unload any of it. and if you do, well its just more money. they are packed so even if you have to unload a couch yourself, theres cardboard and a handle so you can just drag it if theres no better way. ive been able to borrow a dolly. i just hate multiple stops because of my laziness and some can be a good challenge to get a truck to.

i dont think its common, but theres other flat paying loads. like when i ran nyc they gave me a flat 100 a trip, did 2, and when i looked at the check i got payed miles as well, so got around 250. not bad for a days work.

i wish they sent me to denver from lewiston last weekend...but i cant complain they did get me away from winter. and #### that factory stinks! i sat at the j for a day downwind and when i first got out i thought just that many people had pee'd in the parking lot or something.

TD24 already answerd your ? about the pay but I figured I would throw this out there too. KLLM was my secound choice had W/S not wanted to hire me....I'm SOOO glad W/S hired me! lol KLLM was a great company.......NOT anymore.

And the other thing Some weeks the Drop pay is more then your miles, which I should probably explain this:

most of these furniture places are open between 8am and 5pm so you dont start to work until 7ish and your parked by 6....so you can have plenty of sleep and forum time and stay busy all day without staring at the highway all day and take home $300-$400 just in drop pay from 1 load plus the miles.......

As far as layover I only got it once because of Thanks Giving holiday but I didnt have any problems getting the money unlike allot of companies which will try anyway possible to get out of layover/brakedown/detention pay...

What kinds of chains on your trucks? Singles or doubles? Use them a lot yet?

I can't remember the standard "load out" for chains, but we carry 3 railers and singles. As I'm on a dedicated run now (dedicated route, different customers) I get to run from SFS to halfway to Phoenix and back, so there is no place I need to chain YAY!!! I do have a bag of chains for my super singles in the toolbox (i have a daycab KW, so no sideboxes), but they are buried under all my crap.....

As for what I carry, we do mostly La Z Boy loads (full trailers to the tailgate, usually less than 10k lbs), and for fill ins we haul Pepsi from Socal to Phoenix. I stay local and run like a local driver on Mondays, and I've hauled all kinds of stuff. This last Monday, I had 40k of "cleaning products" from Arm & Hammer that I delivered to Big Lots DC, then took my empty and took it to La Z Boy and brought it back to the terminal....always different stuff.

Yes my weekly is right there, again I run the milew, I would rather the miles then the stops, but that is just me, I am happy here I like it, I would highly recommend W/S over any of the others out there. And if they are your first choice they will pick up up to$ 4800 of your training,

all my checks are posted in my thread my last on being $937.98. As for chains since my NEW truck has super singles (yuck) I have super single chains, there heavyer then singles but lighter then 3 railers lol I already had to use them, I get stuck EVERYWHERE with these tires.
