Thanks for the heads up on the break-ins in Modesto. I wont be leaving my personal vehicle there, as my fiance will be driving down to pick me up anytime I come in for home time. As for leaving things in the company truck, I will remember to remove everything before I leave it.

    Becker44.
Im glad to see someone from here who will be there. Kinda makes it bit more "real" now lol. I am waiting to hear from Kristy tomorrow, before I buy my plane ticket. I REALLY dont want to spend 30 plus hours on greyhound.. lol. But I want to make sure I have a ride if my flight doesn't get there till 11pm Sunday night...

So... My 3rd week of CDL training is over. still on track for my DMV examination on the 10th.
The school I am in is suffering from a change in leadership in the last 2 weeks. The new head is shaking things up violently... New remodeling for the campus, new training program, some instructors let go, some hired... ..... But then again, it was desperately needed. Of the last 10 people to go in for DMV testing, 8 failed.....
    :biggrin_2556:
I just don't see how someone can spend this much money, then not take the training seriously... It isn't rocket surgery, but it does take some dedication and effort to pass.....

Anyways... time to dive back into studying... we got told on Friday that if we don't pass a Pre-trip and yard skills test Monday, we will loose our on road drive time!
I only missed 3 on the last pre-trip test, but I am aiming for perfection... Yard skills is a breeze... and fun.. (provided we are in a truck with A/C....100 degree heat sucks)

Well Spirit, today was my day for the CDL test. All went well so I look forward to meeting you at W/S on the 13th. It's a great facility with decent rooms, a large central area with couches and TV. Full kitchen and laundry facilities. If you need anything before you get to town don't hesitate to ask.

    Hey Longbow,

I'll sure let you know. Where will you be going to school? Sage here in Missoula was a good school. 4-5 weeks based on your progression and one on one at all times when out on the interstates or the streets. We even do Lolo pass which this time of year is no big deal, but January? The range sessions are always 2 students and one instructor. Each student has their own truck and the instructor walks the range coaching. So I'll keep the thread alive and I'm sure Spirit will as well.

    Hi ya Becker,
I will be going to Sage as well but I'll be in Billings. If everything goes to plan I will go in November or December. I wonder if they will let me slide until spring with out having to take a refresher. Probably something I need to talk with a recruiter about.
Thanks again for keeping us posted.

    Congrats on your CDL! :biggrin_25519:
I have 3 days left of practice before I take mine. Kinda cutting it close by taking it at 7:30am Friday, and flying to MT on Sunday, but I'm not worried.
I have everything from GPS to new contact lens's, so I think I'm set. I am already planning to hit a hardware store and/or walmart to buy the things I don't have. No sense in buying them here just to ship them up...

Nice to know about the facility though, that made me cut back on the clothing I was packing. I want to travel light. (but my fiance keeps slipping things she thinks I will need into my luggage lol)

I will try and keep posting updates as I have time and energy..

You'll get it all done Spirit..No worries. The terminal does have a car to use while you are there. I'll also have a vehicle so no problems in getting you around. Wally World is about 4 miles away.
