My '08 Volvo has almost 600k, got it last September with 475.

I've only been stuck on the side of the road once (Aug) because the transmission went out (I blame Knight lol), but they had it repaired and its been fine ever since.

Only other major things they've fixed were the fifth wheel, a leaking hub seal and the radiator.

For the pins, I pull the bar and use a pair of vise grips to clamp the bar in the open position. Once I slide I can release the vise grips.

WS has a good maintenence plan and for OOs they will do scheduled maintenence, you can buy parts through them or have shop work done at their price at Peterbilt in Missoula. I bought brakes through them, had them installed in OKC at Larrys and they were cheaper than I could've done them myself. Michelin tires were a good price and I just pulled into the shop and in 2 hrs all 10 on my tractor were done.

My first Volvo was a disaster. In first month I've had 14 breakdowns in 18 days (of usage that month). I got paid 7 days of breakdown and 2 days layover. Every time that Volvo got repaired in Missoula shop - the same problem reapears just a few miles down the road. Mechanics suck there so avoid that shop at any cost if you can. Tire guys on the other hand are highly impressive & fast. Only mechanic who knows how to do his job is Don H. in my opinion.
I was in my evaluation as it was my first month working there so I've kept my mouth shut. Now, I drive Cascadia with 750.000 miles. I got turbo replaced and a few more things so it's running now. Just to clean it from stink bugs and I'm good.

I've had 4 breakdowns in 2.5 months. Luckily, I've always been able to limp the truck somewhere, but it is frustrating and quite stressful to say the least.

We are retiring the older OTR trucks. Replacing them with brand new Volvo's.

It all depends on what you want in the truck with you.

You will need at least a 2000 watt inverter.

    Johnnyspeed1975 Thanks this.
