I know a lady which was in orientation with me in Missoula and shifted not only once but twice while crossing railroad.
    She still got hired.
On the other hand, half of the group before me got sent home.
Just do your best and you'll get hired. MUST HAVE positive attitude all the time, at least that's what I know for MT.

There's been talk about it being a 10 day interview, and I think it's important to keep that in the front of your mind.

In terms of your driving, you'll typically go out three times:
First: Up and down the highway. A little bit of city shifting, but not much.
Second: Our second drive was mountain driving. If you're in Missoula you'll have one of two experiences: The short hill out of Missoula heading north, or McDonald pass.
Third: City driving. Follow the route designated by the trainer.

As you go through the three scenarios, they will increase the pressure on you (just a bit.) The trickiest part is shifting during the mountain portion, and that's not even that bad.

    wd40 Thanks this.

I completed orientation about a month and a half ago in Missoula. My experience with the driving was a combination of training and testing. They show you what to do, then you do it. It wasn't that difficult and if you have problems, they will to help you solve them. They want you to succeed. If you need extra time to work on something, the ten days can be extended a bit. I think they will only cut you from the program if they see that you just aren't getting it (very rare).

    WD40,
I got your PM, but I can't respond with a PM because my post count isn't high enough.
I don't think there is anything personal or embarrassing in your question or in how I would reply, so if it's ok with you I'll post it on this board.
Other students/wannabes may also want to know the answers.
Let me know if posting here is ok.

OK, this is what WD40 asked, along with my reply. --> points to my response. D

I really appreciate that you answered a question of mine on the forum.
If you have a moment, I am trying to obtain a better understanding of the physical.
I have a copy of the form, but I'm not sure what a few things on it mean.

A cervical range of motion? Sounds like a female thing to me. --> Twisting at the hips.

Bilateral carry 60# x 25feet? Is that 60 each side switching or 60#s both hands at once... My wife and I will be teaming and I'm not so sure she can carry 120# 25feet. --> Its 60 # total, in a box similar to a milk crate... or maybe it was a milk crate.

    Push/pull 62# x 25feet ??? What is a push/pull? Is that a sled exercise? --> Same box, pushing/pulling along the floor.

Reclining reach/side reach x 3minutes... What is a reclining reach? --> Reaching to the side repeatedly for 3 minutes. As I recall, there is no weight with this one.

--> Working out to get ready is probably a good idea. I think all companies have some kind of a similar test.
