ive saw some good and bad things about w/s. and being new to trucking im wondering if w/s is a good choice. ive saw many posts that have answered questions like i got but im looking for even more answeres if available to me from any current/past w/s drivers.
#1- i live in ohio so would i get much home time between runs
#2- if i asked to drive a standard semi rather than a automatic would they let me. i dislike automatics becasue ive heard to many bad things about them
#3- would the company let me run for 2 weeks before taking any home time
#4- does w/s have a passenger rider policy
#5- whats w/s policy on tabacco use, as i smoke cigarettes/cigars and do snuff, some companys dislike this
#6- whats the general tiem frame i would be pulling a van trailer before i could switch to flatbed, as i really want to pull flatbed

I can't answer your question about home time but they do like for OTR to stay out three to four weeks at a time. You get a day off for every six days you work.

We LOVE our automatic, it's makes life much easier. I don't think anyone gets to pick between the two...whatever they decide to give you. But knock the automatic until you try it!

    Tobacco use is allowed.

    They have rider/pet policy.

I don't know how long it would be before you would be able to switch over to flatbed. They have a waiting list, I think.

We are very satisfied with W&S, everyone is very nice.
