My time with WS are (thankfully) numbered, leaving soon. Horrid, horrid company to work for long-term, but decent first- time company to get your skills honed. If you work for them, please consider recording/ documenting every single encounter, as I have. Will come in handy, should a lawsuit come up.

Lol it's a starter company. Not one of the best but leaps and bounds beyond the worst.
Everyhing written online should be takin with a grain of salt, anyway, but your opinion is appreciated.
Definitely not my job to try and convince anyone on where to start their career, so I won't.

No experience under ya belt and wants the world handed to him on a silver platter.
Sounds like he wanted training wheels on his Volvo but WS couldn't oblige :(

all I expected was what I was told by multiple company sources. I didn't go there because they were the highest paying starter company, I went because I believed their lies. If im going to be left out for weeks and weeks and never get home, even when im scheduled for home, ill do it with another company. One that will give .04 cpm more, better truck and better benefits. THE ONLY thing they offered that was better was the route they said I'd be on but they couldn't/wouldn't deliver!

Like I said, company man, why they have such a hard time keeping 800 trucks moving if they're so great? The only people sticking around there are the suckers that need them to reimburse their tuition. I couldn't find anyone there who worked there more than 2 years. The ones that have been there longer have nice new trucks and get routes in one state from their home, get home almost every weekend and get that "silver platter" you mentioned.

I didn't get a cdl to make $400-$500/week. If that's what I wanted I would swing a hammer or drive a forklift. get it in 40 hours/week and be home EVERY night!!!

These are just some of the reasons why this is my last week with them. The company is MUCH DIFFERENT than when Americantrucker was working there and did his vlog/blog here and on youtube.

Everyone starts at the bottom and has to work there way up. The company is the same since Andrew started his "blog". It is also the same when Chris started the first "blog here". I have seen many drivers come and go. Not every driver gets the new trucks. I for one will never get a new truck because off my position as shortline driver. I'm home every weekend and once or twice a week do about 35 stops a week and run over 2000+ miles a week (5 days). I paid my dues and had good and bad days.

I am truly sorry for your experience with us at Watkins and Shepard. I know your experience is not indicative of everyone that comes on with us. We will take what you have said and work on being a better company.

We are glad that we chose W&S... things are going good. We have met many happy newbies here...sorry things did not go well for you.

That health insurance is really bad. I would not want to rely on that.

The insurance for a new driver for at least the first
year is not much help. No prescription coverage for a year.
