    Our truck is sick....:biggrin_2552:

the Volvo shop said the transmission needs replaced, that the reprogramming did not do the trick.

We've not treated her rough. We've gotten all the maintenance done when needed and required, barely used the manual shifting... don't think we done anything to cause this.

Then the other night it began making a big clunking noise when going into 7th, then it began not going into 7th at all and staying stuck in neutral. Had a few close calls where we had to pull off to the side of the road and try to get her back into gear. We made it to the home terminal and shut her down.

We've heard from a few people that the trannies are coming out of these new volvos around 70k miles. Dunno... our truck has 55k on her.

    I still like her better than a stick-shift! :yes2557:

I think we've had to pull heavy carpet through one too many of those 5ft deep mudholes at the Dalton terminal:biggrin_2559::smt106

That's why they lease them, not own them.

So... they knew the Volvo trucks stayed in the shop....and this is the reason they leased them?... It must have been a undercover plan secretly devised to sue Volvo.

Did I say that? They were purchasing trucks from Night, etc and they were constantly fixing them. Leased trucks are someone else's repair bill. Smart move, really. Nobody makes a truck that doesn't break. At least WS gets stuff fixed when it does break.

Your right.... Watkins tried to make the step up and Volvo probably made them a good deal. Unfortunately, Watkins ended up loosing a lot of money, time, and business. It's Sad because it appears Watkins seems to be stuck. Being aparently unable to replace all of those ragged out trailers. A lot of drivers are eating DOT tickets for that... it is tough on a driver when he has to sweat each pass of the scales. You have to admitt, fixing the lights and other repairs almost every run doesn't help the paycheck either.
