The problem with seeking info on a company is you are asking thousand's of drivers. That means you will get thousand's of different answers. I promise you this, and I never worked for Werner, but for every complaint someone will up hold the company. And that's just not with Werner. SOunds to me this newbeeies problem wasn't Werner, it was his trainer.

it seems that ANY company you look under on here, theres rarely more good than bad. and for all these bad complaints.. how many people have even worked for the comapnies? or better yet, are still employed? no matter who you are if someone fires you your gunna have some words to say. and also, as newbies... theres only a handfull of companies that will hire you and/or offer schooling. so looks like we dont have much of an option huh?

Seem's every starting company has alot of complaints, is it that new people get in there and it's not what they thought it would be?

I am a new driver with Werner and the trucking industry as a whole. drove track hoes and worked construction all my life until the bottom fell out. I am satisfied that Werner gave me a chance at my age (59) to gain some experience in a new field. The pay is not great, but it pays the bills. I had a great trainer who spent time explaining the truth about trucking and how freight works, so I am not overly disappointed. There are good and bad in every field not matter what the pay is, the key thing I learned is to always drive safe and be aware of others around you. My driving has improved after training and time on the road is showing me just how little I knew before hand. I have great respect for drivers now and was amazed at just how much they have to know. Werner started me on the 48otr team but that did not work for me , got plenty of miles ,just could not deal with drivers that were out of training and got lost on a daily basis. Werner treated me good when I let the dispatcher know that I could not drive with new drivers anymore. they gave me a relay run of 540 miles a day , now I am home every day and weekends are free,In my case I am grateful for the opportunity to have a job and learn. I have heard the horror story's at terminals about low miles , extended wait for loads etc, all I can say is so far I believe they have treated me ok for my limited time and road experience
(5 months now) the thing I try to remember is that I am the Newbie in this field,
Other truckers have helped out in tight backing situations even though I work for 'big blue" and overall I have been impressed with the attitude of most truckers, sure I have had my share of saying this sucks,, but if I had as many years in this field as I have had at construction , well I guess I would be a professional in this field, right now , I take advice that given gratefully ,its a whole new adventure and I am just starting it. thanksChargerChuck Thanks this. -
I dont drive for them, but havent heard much good about them from some of there drivers. Low miles, bad equipment. I remember when their recuiter came to my school, line after line of bs. I was intrested in flatbed, which i now drive for a flatbed only company. He said how he pulled skateboards for years before recuiting, which he just started doing. Bs- flatbeddeds have to be somewhat physically fit, not way overweight. Id love to see him make his way up atop a tall load of lumber to tarp. How AWESOME their elogs were. Want the truth, werner had so many log book violations as a company DOT required them to go to elogs or face losing their dot # and being put oos. Thanx but no, i stay legal on paper logs just fine. After reading this thread, im wondering how many trainers it take to become a driver there. I had one. Now i understand everyone has to start somewhere but just know what your getting into first. Or if your lazy, werner maybe just for you.
