    i have some questions

how is werner i am goin to some truck stops this weekend to try catch some drivers but ive heard good and bad about them.

ive heard that once you get done with orientation and training they send you home and say they dnt have a truck for u.

how are they on idle time do they expect you to freeze or will they allow some time

do they push their drivers more than they should when drivers tell them they cant go anymore

do they get ou home when they say they will for the most part i know sometimes thell mess up who dont

if any one who drives for werner could give any advise it would be much appreciated thank you

They have an APU in the truck. Only 2 day orientation. Dependimg on your location or preference, you can go OTR or regional. I'm on the East Coast regional Office Max account.

jwac don't listen to the crap on here why would werner pay to train you and then just send you home. You may have to sit a day or two after you test out to get a truck assignment and yes you may have to go recover one some other driver abandoned and yes it will probably have mech. issues(any driver who has any pride would never abandon a truck so it was probably a pos driver and you know he would not have taken care of his equipment). As far as idle time dispatchers pay is based on many factors one of which is amount of idle time so they will tell you things like they can fire you for excessive idle time dont listen to them if your truck does not hav an apu or aux. bunk heater go ahead and idle if they have a problem just call driver relations or safety and they will take care of it. As far as pushing drivers they can not make you do anything illegal(electronic logs). As far as hometime it can be a ##### the best thing to do is try to get on a dedicated account that way you can know when you'll be getting home on a regular basis. I'm on a dedicated account and only was out 2 weekends last year and on both occasions my dispatcher asked for volunteers from the fleet on tue and I volunteered.
