I'm looking at becoming an Owner/Operator again. I know a lot of the lease purchase programs out there are a very, very bad idea. But when doing a actual purchase like with Werner, is that a good idea? Also does Werner have the freight to keep me moving so I can make my payments and still make a good living for my family?

buy a decent used truck and run under someones authourity you'll come out better off!! like if your not getting the miles or if they start getting shady with you then you can take your toys and go play in another sand box. and please don't say you have no money saved up as a truck is a cash #####. and hows your credit do you have good credit as you may need it one day. if you have no money or no credit you will probily fail not to be rude but just blunt looking out for a fellow driver. and take the contract to a laywer to a lawyer to see who it benifeits them or YOU and if they say no id'e run like hell. as most lease purchases are gears to make the company profit not the driver.

You're talking about buying a used truck from Werner and maybe a trailer too, right ? Now you can lease on to Werner or any place, right ? Yes, Werner has freight, BUT, how much they send your way is the question.

thats why i always choose to buy elsewhere and latch on to someone if frieght is slow or the co starts to jerk you around you can move on as your not the company slave!!
