I trained on a dollar acct and am grateful I did. My trainer was all about teaching me (for the 1st 2 weeks or so) to back into every store. After about 2 weeks he would let me do it on my own and only speak up if I was heading into a bad situation. I did not go onto a dollar acct after training but can now back better than most guys on my acct because of that tight dollar store backing.

I was originally I interested in the anheuser busch acct but I prefer to have my dog on the road with me and they do not allow any animals at all on the property. (Even if they stay in the truck) on top of that loads are always heavy and some of the locations will make you sit for a day or 2 if you are late. So I decided against it

Oh great, who did you speak to about the dog issue? I have the same concern.

I hauled a load out of Ft. Collins earlier this month and the qualcom message mentioned "no pets" however when we were scaling out the load the lady behind me opened her door and a dachshund jumped out of the truck.

I mentioned this to the driver placement employee I spoke with and she assured me that as long as they stayed in the truck at the brewery it is fine.

Guess I should call a few more people and speak with them about this.

It really isnt up to Werner it is the customer's policy. I did ask them about it in OKC before I had my dog on board. And they said that if they see an animal on board they will ask you to leave the property immediately. After dealing with a few loads from them I found out it was a blessing in disguise. They can be a real pain to deal with. 3 times I was displaced to pick up split loads for them just to run from drop yrd to and A&B location and the load was already late for delivery before I even picked it up. Told dispatch this and I got the "just try and deliver anyways" and "ya we rescheduled it" I show up and they make me wait all day because appt was for previous day and it was never re scheduled. After that whenever getting assigned a load for them I could just reply "can't pick up this load have a pet on board" LOL.

Delivered a few for miller/colors out of ohio. They were never bad to deal with and they never had a problem with pets

If u feel like working and getting your hands dirty. Then a dollar account.
U can do no touch freight but u have to drive a lot.

I run family dollar and only. 1450_1700 miles a week. But can bring home between 750-950 before taxes. But that's when I started. Now I run a load a day as a solo driver. I average the same miles but a lot more stop (aka more stop pay) and now more unload pays cause I do more trailers.

It all depends on how u feel and what u feel like doing.
