Hello. I'm a prospectful guy who looking at this company and was wondering if this company a good fit for me.
See I'm looking for a company that offer regional routes once a driver like me finished training with Werner that can offer me this? Plus if I go to a trucking school locally In my area will I get reminburse and how? Their miles and pay, their trucks, and their terminals location.

Finally as drivers tell me if this a place to stay or a place just to get your cdl and move one??
any info willbe truthful be helpful because I been wanting to be a trucker since I was a young lad. Its my passion its my dream please help me bring my dream to life ..

Oh btw I'm 28 yrs old. Live in north Carolina and been out of work since 2011 :-(
Just wanna get back to work!!

Newbie, I started with Schneider. Drove 7 months teams and 6 months regional before changing to a mid sized company and better routes and pay. I would recommend Schneider-they reimburse for CDL school and offer solid training. The first year is the hardest, most people drop out. Once you have a year in you will have more opportunities. I would look at other options before Werner, but the main thing is to get your one year experience, and keep your driving record clean. You might want to look at Swift, also.

    mje and newbietrucker007 Thank this.

Schneider would be good; try for their bulk division if you have tanker/hazmat endorsements.

Many companies have Southeast regional routes.

Work for werner is not a problem since you need to get your experience somewhere but the pay is crap other than that they have new trucks, terminals are crap but not too bad and everything else is normal just like any other mega carrier. I worked for them and i would go back only if they show more respect and pay drivers better good luck with your new career and make safety an habit
