I start my orientation Monday in Dallas TX. I have more then 3 months of OTR. So recruiter said will b orientation Monday and Tuesday and after orientation on Tuesday they will issue me my truck and go get dollar general load. I am or will b on dollar general acct. questions I'm assuming according to recruiter that I will not b out on truck w a trainer and I'm happy bout that but is this true for someone 5 months driving? Next question how is the pay on the dollar general acct? Next they ask me what I drove at the pumpkin so told them cascadia and he said that's probably what I would get from them to drive. True or not? Next I live close less then 15 miles from a DG center. Will I get home more through week? Such as stop off to shower and sleep in my own bed?? Thanks and boomer sooner baby red river shoot out this weekend!!!

Reason I ask bout no trainer is I guess I will need to bring my bedding and things to orientation?

Bring a bump cap, some work gloves and be ready for a hell of a lot of physical labor and backing into stores that were never designed to have tractor trailers in them.. Watch those rolltainers.. they WILL bite and smash the heck out of your fingers.

Yea I hear and have seen the backing is going to b loads of fun. Now the rolltainers doesn't that make it easier and faster to unload or is it still a #####?? I mean I had to get away from Schneider they never got my pay correct. I was driving more miles the 50-60 drivers my DBL had and would get a check for 200.00 I mean it was crazy I was starving to death out on the road and going in the hole so had to make a change. They kept saying o were fixing but it was never fixed. Anyway thanks for the tips! B safe!!!

the rolltainers just made it so the driver can unload with less labor on DG's part, the rolltainers are strapped in to logistics posts but the trailers are still stuffed floor to ceiling with freight. LOTS of things on top of the rolltainers that have to be handled and unloaded to get the rolltainers out. Then its moving them out onto the liftgate, which depending on your angle and incline can be a mother bear! Then the rolltainers from the last delivery must be loaded up and secured .. be careful out there..

Also those rolling carts have a netting on them that almost always gets hung up on something and no room to get your hand to it to free it up, good luck

Its a lot of physical work.. and for most of the drivers out there today.... they didn't get into trucking to work.
