Well, the stuff I have read says that Werner does not do L/P, it sells the trucks outright. That is what I am looking at. I'm not a Lease guy, no way no how...

Ok good. So Werner is little else than a used truck dealer in this case? With 3rd party financing or do they do in-house financing and if so, can you take the truck to a carrier of your choice to lease on with?

I did l/p through Werner 4 years ago and had my truck paid off in about 2 years. Not that bad of a program but you cant go OTR to get the truck paid outright with out being broke the whole time.

Whats that supposed to mean? If you went to a decent truck dealer like lone mountain...you would need at least 5 grand down...and all the money for your own authority...and trailer of you want to be independent. If you just really want your own truck...Werner isn't so bad.

Why would you shovel out 10 grand to get a truck financed with 500k miles on it? By the time you are paid off, you have near a million. The Werner guy will have 200-300 thousand fewer miles before he is payed off.

You have to be careful when buying...but Werner is far from impossible. You might not make a killing, but you'll have your own truck in a few years...a lot more than most drivers can say.

Are you talking about Wenger l/p or Wenger selling a used truck? The reason lease purchase is bad is you are stuck pulling for their dirt cheap mileage payscale vs signing on at a good carrier where you will make 70 cpm more. On 100k miles/annually that's 350k dollars in five years. Let that number sink in for a minute and then think about how good that lease purchase actually is.
