I've read tons of negativity on here about everything, so I'm sure this will give me some as well. What I'd really like to know is who is doing it and profiting, and what specifically they are doing. I am considering this as an option and I have seen all the negative aspects; now I'd like to hear some positive stuff if anyone has some.

    Thanks guys!

What specifically do u want to know?..Im a werner o/o, i worked as a company driver for almost 3 years then bought a truck ,paid cash...im still here 3 yrs in as o/o... Ive netted over 50k each year working less in each, setting aside money for future overhaul/replacement brings that number down quick:)..i worked a little over 30 weeks this year... ive been reallly fortunate to not have any major repairs otherwise my income would be affected significantly... im not getting rich but i dont want to be OTR more than 30 weeks..what else you wanna know?

You have only netted 50k a year o/o for werner??

Whats the point of having your own truck just to make the same as a company driver?

Dude, you are working to hard. 26 weeks is half the year, and that's more than enough for me.

This is good info, please keep it coming! I just got approved to start in January at school and I'm looking at this option. I have owned a business before, and I'd always rather have my own stuff than work for someone else.

Chris50, do you feel like Werner keeps you on the road as much as you'd like, while you're working? Not too much waiting between loads or too few miles? I'd like to run as hard as the law allows and I'd like to hear that Werner does that for their owner operators. Even the new ones.

I'd also like to know the answer to this; of course I will ask the company about it, but I'd like to hear actual road experience as well.

Kris, you need to realize that Chris 50 bought his truck, he did not lease purchase from werner.
There is going to be absolutely zero similarities with a lp vs o/o
