Thats nothing to do with what I said. He denied that he was tired, until he was pulled over, then he tried to blame me for just checking on him. I told him I couldnt read minds. He didnt seem so sure... he had accused his previous trainer of Voodoo...

Did I say anything about knowing he was swerving? Thats what the cop got him for... he pretended to be fine when I checked on him. Thats the entire point of this discussion... students will try and be tough, and theyll get themselves in trouble.

I was the one saying that students pretend to be fine... why would I say the exact opposite of what I just said a sentence before? If Im saying you have to be aware of fatigued students... why would I let someone drive fatigued? That makes no sense whatsoever...

Not to be a jerk, but thats where trainers go wrong.

Its not my job to like someone, and if they came from the school knowing how to drive perfectly, they wouldnt need trainers. As a trainer, its up to me to find their weaknesses and to strengthen them. I dont have to like them, sometimes I really hate them... but all that matters is that they are safe.

I dont just train them to be safe, I make sure they know how to avoid getting into situations where they would be hit by other vehicles. Such as driving in the left lane in urban areas... people complain about hitting someone who pulled out in front of them... then they shouldnt have been in a lane that people are absolutely going to pull out into. Common sense.

80% of students can be passed and will be perfectly safe. Thats my current rate, with 100% pass rate this year... minus a guy who went home for a family emergency. Everyone else passed, and have not so much as scratched their trucks. I asked some other trainers what their success rate was... they all said about 20%. Thats not acceptable. A trainer's job is to produce safe drivers, to make sure the company has safe drivers to operate trucks. Failing 80% of your students is basically refusing to do your job.

I hate to fail, and I love to train. I want to make sure everyone gets their fair chance, it doesnt matter if I like them, or who they are. If I can turn them into safe drivers, I will do my best to do so. And everyone but the trashiest people will do anything you ask of them. The problem is trainers getting upset when the student litterally cannot do something... and try to accuse them of doing it on purpose. Some students dont understand how the gears shift, or how the trailer follows... or a whole bunch of other things. Thats why we are called trainers, so we can train people... to overcome their limitations.

Ive only once had someone willingly break a safety rule... the rest were on accident, they just didnt have the reflex for it, and realized too late to fix it. We all know trucks need a lot of space and time to be safe... sometimes people forget. Its out job as trainers to build their reflexes so that they know exactly what to do, without even thinking about it.

And I apologize again if this came across rude.

How exactly do you know all of this again? There is no resource that shows anybody what day the accidents happened, let alone the conditions. Where are you getting this information? You couldnt even check the CSA website, and now you are an expert on everything CSA, and know everything about all of Werners accidents. Because you sure dont seem to know anything about the 41 fatal accidents that SWIFT has had in the same time period...

Oh, and since you are so concerned about Werner losing the prepass... why arent you concerned about US Xpress, CR England... and Crete. If Crete is in the top 15% on their CSA score... do you honestly believe CSA has anything to do with it? Of course it doesnt. How can a company be in the top 15% and have their Prepass taken away unless they arent related? Are you going to make random accusations against Crete as well? What about Swift?

As for the prepass being turned off, I already explained that prepass has nothing to do with CSA scores. Prepass is run on the state level, by a group of 30 states. Its also administrated by NORPASS, which is an even smaller group of states that is headed by Washington state and Kentucky. FMCSA is a totally separate group that has nothing to do with prepass.

How do I go about getting one of you guys as my trainer? :D I'm getting kinda fed up with the lack of education from mine..

I know I have a good grasp on the basics and according to him im much further along than his other students, but I know there are areas where I could use the advice of a truly seasoned driver.

I've asked a few questions to him and gotten the response of I don't really know or that's a good question. That's usually when I pull off at a truck stop and hop on here or YouTube for some advice.

It's really a shame because our personalities mesh well and that was my biggest concern going in to training. But if I can't learn anything then there's no point to being in this truck.

I even had another trainer tell me that he needed to be more hands on when he saw me back and drop a trailer at a yard while my instructed was talking with another driver.

Obviously davezilla you still don't get it, your like a mule being led to water and won't drink. I'm not the only one who has said this, and I am not the only one who stated that their pre-pass was pulled, I wasn't the only one who not only got the qc message, but others posted same thing.

you are not worth the time, or energy, and your logic is just genius, if it was compared to just a rock.

You our say they are not related I say bs. If they we not, and not legal, then dot wouldn't allow the use of them and nobody would have a pre-pass or nor-pass.

But it I guess reading comprehension wasnt one of your studies....oh well....moving on

no it didnt, but if someone isnt willing to learn, Im not going to waste anymore of my time trying to teach them. that's just dangerous and pointless.

if they can't follow basic instruction, follow the rules set for of the truck, there is no point for me to continue training them. Not every trainer can or will get through to every driver. Most trainers wont have problems with their students, because most are eager to learn all they can, but you occassionally get that bad apple that just doesn't care or have any desire to learn or to follow the rules or take the instruction as it was intended. and thats what I was referring to when I said they would be off my truck. but that's like breaking point measures.
