its very well known how little new drivers earn. I was always told its a right of passage. considering turnover rate...why pay them more? company's gunna get stuck getting there truck back, repairs, wasted time, etc... who cares where they came from. if they gain experience and are productive they will quickly learn to improve income. -
I love folks who complain about starting pay. I mean after all a lot of folks spent 3 weeks and maybe $5000 to make about $30k the first year. What a crime!
You could of spent about a year and $50k-75K on flight training to work for a commuter airline making $19k-25k... Living in a crash pad with 10 other pilots...
You gotta start somewhere! Work up from there.DriveItUSA, goblue and YosemiteSam Thank this. -

Lol aren't you in for a shock .34 CPM ok lets do math that is to truck so each driver gets .17 CPM now take out the 3 cent safety bonus (which really isn't a safety bonus) now you down to .14 CPM then take off per deim I think 1 cent now you pushing loads for .13 CPM really good luck with that

week #2 is doing well. still on curfew for another 13 hours of observation.
downshifting has gotten a lot better. I am so far disappointed with the available opportunities for backing practice. everything so far has been drop and hook. blah. i need more practice. but that should change soon.
paychecks have been timely and accounted for. SDM keeps in contact regularly and my trainer is on task with everything and makes for a friendly environment and experience.
now if i could just get used to sleeping while this truck is moving lol.
i drove wrn arizona to amarillo on tuesday, then Rhome, TX to Albuquerqe on tuesday. mostly while the trainer slept during the day. -
Woobie Thanks this.

Thanks for starting this thread. I'm starting with Werner in 2 weeks as part of my "externship" from cdl school. I've read so many negative reviews about starter companies that my expectations are quite low. Werner was the "lesser of three evils" that I had to choose from and I'm glad to be reading (finally) some positive reviews.
DriveItUSA Thanks this. -
Its not negativity it's truth and well if truth hurts sorry I have read and talked to others just a shame to puff your head with this great apple pie stuff only to find out you just end up getting a crumb of the cupcake. I wish you well and good luck, just until you actually get out there on your own don't be surprised you just got bit.
