"There is little difference in people, but that little difference makes a big difference. The little difference is attitude. The big difference is whether it is positive or negative." - W. Clement Stone
Having a positive attitude makes everything easier and keeps you happier. Now I don't know if W. Clement Stone ever worked for Werner Enterprises or if he was even in the transportation industry, but he did do extremely well for himself through exuding a positive mental attitude.
Nowhere in this thread have I read, or been given the impression, that the O.P. has any delusions about what they've gotten themeselves into. I have, however, gotten the impression that they posses the determination & the will to succeed. With determination, a willingness to succeed & a positive attitude you can accomplish anything.Night Prowler, Woobie, DriveItUSA and 1 other person Thank this. -
Now that I went LTL I almost (by a butt hair) landed a bid on a team run with guaranteed 5600 miles at .56 cpm mon-fri. Got outbidded by someone with more seniority.
This bottom feeder peanut-paying team-train jobs are ridiculous... and people actually defend this! Then we wonder why the industry is the way it is... -
Edit:// and those rates are solo, not team. I don't have to get used to sleeping while the truck is moving, nor dealing with sharing a closet on wheels with someone i don't know.Last edited: Feb 22, 2014

team is 34 CPM ok now divide that by 2 as there are 2 drivers so now each driver makes 17 CPM now subtract the .03 CPM that is suppose to be bonus and 1 CPM for per deim that leave 13 CPM per driver.
now....
solo if one comes out of training will make about .26 CPM now subtract the 3 CPM for bonus and the 1 CPM for per deim that leaves you 22 CPM.
In other words you pay them to work.
Now take this in consideration when I first started driving and went through training and this is about 13 years ago I started out at .30 CPM a far cry now over 1m miles later and a few years later you would think drivers would start out making more not less.
