This is too funny.. I am on a dedicated account and home on weekends, when I am bobtail I just park kutside my house, but, when I have a trailer I park at a near by grocery store in a lower lot that is pretty much always empty..

Well, I did my laundry and shopping so I went to tne truck to put my clothes and groceries in it so it is all ready for tomorrow morning.
I realized I wanted to pick up a few items from the grocery store so I drove my car from my truck up to the store.. then I walked from the store to my truck.. not a long ways.

While back at my truck I decide to put in some fuel additive into my tanks.. that is when the officer pulls up to check things out..
I think be thougnt I was stealing the truck or gas or something... any way he asks me what I am doing, so I tell him i was jut getting my gruck ready for tomorrow.. so he says, this is your truck? I tell him yes and I have permission from the store manager to park here on the weekends... he then asks to see my license.. now, this is where jt gets funny..
My license was in the truck.. so, I unlock the door , get jn and grab my wallet and get down and hand him my license.. he goes looks at it and at me.. now, I am wearing my Wener sweat pants, and also a Werner ball cap, I umlocked the truck door with the Key that is on a Werner Key chain... now he says.. do you have any proof that this is your truck... so, I show him mh Werner ID Badge..

Now, at this point, I woukd think that my being dressed in Werner sweats and hat, having a key to the werner truck on a Werner key chain, and showing him my CDL and my Werner ID badge would be enough to satisfy him that I was not breaking into the truck or stealing the fuel.. but no.. he goes to his car.. a few moments later another cruise arrives and the first officer tells the second officer that he saw me messing arround the truck and that I claim I am the driver and asks the second officer how they can verify that and hands him my license and werner ID badge.

The second officer looks at me.. in my Werner clothes and hat, holding my werner key chain and asks.. those the keys to the truck.. I shake my head yes ..

He chuckles hands me my license and ID badge and tells the other officer it's her truck.. and gets back in his car and leaves.. the first officer looks at me and says alrigbt, have a nice nignt and gets in his car and leaves..

well.. now I know.. my truck is safe and secure.. lol.

How do we know this is you posting this story and not someone who has taken your laptop and is sitting at a Starbucks telling us this story?

Thankfully you were not wearing the Werner hoody and you must have been wearing the ball cap properly or this would have been posted from the county jail.

Lol.. that is true Little Eddie....

I figured he was going to question whether I could be parked there.. I can see why he may have gotten suspicious with me messing with the tanks.. but when I was wearing Werner clothes and I being a Werner truck you would think he wojld put two and two together... When he asked me for my license I thougnt that was odd, since I wasnt doing anything wrong... but, when I realized that he was questioning whether it was my truck, even after I unlocked the door with the key.... I was in disbelief...

Yeah.. those sweats are comfortable.... I bougbt them last week when I was at the terminal while my truck was being worked on, wanted to take a shower and then chill in those big comfy leather recliners.. so I bought the sweat pants, T shirt and hat so I didn't have to do my hair..

But the really are comfortable sweat pants.. and I like the hat.. sort of completes the redneck hippie thing I got going... also, I am really happy at Werner..

You would wear a band's shirt to their concert, too, wouldn't you?

Maybe it's because I've worked in a lot of jobs where you had to wear some sort of uniform or uniform item (which could range from the trousers and shirt I wear at my shop now to as little as a reflective safety vest with the company name on the back in previous jobs), and maybe that's why I'm so adamantly against wearing company clothing when I don't need to. Although I do wear a sweatshirt from my employer when I was in South Africa sometimes, but I can make exception for that.

I'm glad Werner's working out well for you and that you're happy there. As much as I like to rag on big box carriers, I still find a bit of solace in knowing that not everyone out there driving a truck is miserable, and it's a nice break from the never-ending stream of, "oh, this company sucks so bad" without straying into fishing story territory so commonly heard at truck stops (another reason I don't like to 'fly a flag', as it were).

How many miles a week do you average driving for Werner on your particular dedicated account?

What would be the weekly average for an individual driver driving all 48 states and possibly going into Canada?

I'll bet you're a sight walking around the shop wearing nothing but a reflective safety vest or did I misinterpret; my reading comphrension leaves much to be desired at times.

Wonder if she showed the police her Werner tattoo.
